Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Effective Date: February 4, 2026
The Larry Pickett Foundation (“the Foundation,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our donors, partners, and the individuals we serve. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information through our website and our “Full-Circle” 85/15 impact model.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you make a donation, apply for a grant, or contact us. This includes:
Personal Identifiers: Name, email, mailing address, and phone number.
Financial Information: Donation history and payment details (processed securely through third-party platforms like GoFundMe Pro).
Professional Information: Department affiliation and EIN for first responder equipment grant applicants.
SMS Data: Mobile phone numbers and opt-in consent for text message communications.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used strictly to fulfill our mission of equipping, restoring, and honoring:
85/15 Transparency: To track and report on the allocation of restricted funds to specific departments or survivors.
Direct-to-Vendor Coordination: We share necessary applicant data with verified equipment vendors or service providers to facilitate direct payments, ensuring charitable integrity and “Payer of Last Resort” verification.
Communication: To provide IRS-compliant tax receipts and updates on the impact of your gift.
Recognition: To coordinate the induction of heroes into the National Library of Courage (only with explicit consent).
3. SMS and Mobile Messaging
If you opt-in to receive SMS from the Foundation:
Purpose & Frequency: We use SMS to provide grant application updates and mission alerts. Messaging frequency may vary.
Rates: Message and data rates may apply.
Opt-Out: You can opt out at any time by texting STOP. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you a final SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed.
Assistance: For assistance, text HELP to 888-441-2020 or visit our website at LarryPickettFoundation.org.
No Sharing of SMS Data: Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
4. Data Protection and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption and secure socket layer (SSL) technology. We do not sell, rent, or trade our donor lists or personal information with any third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We partner with trusted providers to facilitate operations (e.g., GoFundMe Pro, AT&T Office@Hand, and Google reCAPTCHA). These providers have access to information only as needed to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality.
6. Media and “Stories of Service”
The Foundation’s mission includes cinematic storytelling. We do not publish the likeness, names, or specific stories of survivors or heroes without written consent. Once archived in the National Library of Courage, this content is used to inspire a global culture of selfless service.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
Review the personal information we have on file for you.
Opt-out of future communications (Email or SMS) at any time.
Request the deletion of your personal data, subject to IRS record-keeping requirements for charitable donations.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy & Terms of Service to reflect changes in our practices. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date.”
